Where we were

The 2017 “Young at Heart” camp for us more experienced folks.  Sue and I joined her sisters Kathy and Nancy for the week.  The place is about 15 miles north of Virginia, MN on Arrowhead Lake.    We were last there with the kids for a family camp in the early 1980’s, and while much has changed, much has stayed unchanged.

The pictures are presented in the order I took them rather than by topic.  All were shot with a Nikon D7100 using one of three lenses: Tokina 11-6 mm, Nikkor 18-105 mm or Nikkor 55-300 mm.  I did use a circular polarizer on some sunrise/sunset shots, and I used my ND filter on one of the daytime lake views.  But generally, no filter.  The group picture was in automatic mode since I was not the shooter (Bobbi did those), but all the others were in manual mode.

We had are great time.  Excellent activities with a great group of folks.  I was hoping for a bit more in bloom, but late August is never great for wildflowers.  Ma Nature chose not to do great sunrise or sunset color, but that may have been due to my failure  to perform the proper incantations.  Not being a local, I was unsure of the proper forms.  🙂
