Shootout at Berry College

The NGPC visited Berry College in Rome, GA on a busy Saturday morning in early November. The idea was to both find fall color and scout in preparation for the North Georgia Camera Club Council (NG3C) shootout the following weekend. The sky was overcast, so the colors were not a vibrant as if the sky were clear, but still, it was a fun morning.

Late October 2024

We had only a trace of rain during October. Not a record, but one of the longer dry spells in Atlanta’s history. So the fall color never really materialized as it has in the past.

Mid-October 2024

A few sunrises that were way better than most, a bit of fall color, and the fall blooms in the yard

Early October 2024

The month began with a few good sunrises.

End of Summer 2024

The first 21 days of September had a few really nice sunrises. However, we’ve not had many clouds or much rain in that period. Even my weeds won’t grow for lack of water. So I’ve been up many mornings for a walk by the lake, and I’ve photographed whatever I thought was interesting.

August 2024

I got up for sunrise most days this month, and I got a few images I really like. Not many days provided great color, but a few were well above average.

2H July 2024

Another set of images from my morning walks at West Bank Park. We had a string of terrific light shows before the more recent cloudy mornings.

First half of July 2024

The month began with a string of nice sunrises.

June 2024

It was an eventful month photographically. Some sunrises, some flowers (both with and without pollinators), and the grandchildren performing. Not a bad time at all.

First is the single good sunrise image from the early part of the month.

Then we have images from the second half of the month

Then a few from Rose and Clara at their Pick ‘n Bow concert

And lastly, a visit to Gibbs Gardens for the waterlily blooms

Helen to the Atlantic hot-air balloon race, May 2024

An annual event by the Head Balloon company in Helen, GA. This year the race start featured nearly no wind at the lower levels. The crews were expecting to have to get to 10,000 feet before they’d find the breeze they needed. That meant we had many shots from nearly straight below the balloons. Another great time.
