Did you know that science fairs aren’t just for school? This spring there are a couple of opportunities to participate in science fairs outside of school.
Google Science Fair
The Google Science Fair is open to 13-18 year olds anywhere in the world. You can sign up today with a friend or two and submit your project by May 19. There are a lot of great resources on the web site as well as descriptions of all the different prizes (scholarships) and special awards.
Family Science Fair
Our local children’s museum, Marbles, is sponsoring a Family Science Fair as do many museums across the country so I’m sure you can find one near you. Families are invited to engage in hands-on science activities together and present their results in a display at the museum. The non-competitive Marbles science fair is held on April 11 and is open to PreK through 5th grade students and their families and participation gets you free admission.
Do you know of any other science fairs outside of school? Let me know!
