A selection of current best pictures.  I have  many, so this is just some of them.  I plan to change this page every quarter to rotate through the whole set of my best pictures.  There is no particular order to these images.

A hydrofoil surfboarder in the light before sunrise on Lake Lanier in late July 2023. We had been some time without great early light, and this was a bonus.

Dodd Creek along the trail to Raven Cliff Falls in July 2023. Climbed down and took my time to frame the shot.

Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and some software manipulation of an image of the light right after sunrise in the trees at West Bank Park on Lake Lanier in later July 2023

A panorama of a nice sunrise over Lake Lanier in late July 2023. I don’t do many panoramas, and this one worked out very well.
Looking Glass Falls outside Brevard, NC in the Natahala National Forest. This was one of the first images I thought was really good. Taken in late 2010 during a workshop with Bill and Linda Lane. I climbed over the railing and down the creek a bit to get this vantage point. When I’ve been there since then, the water was too high to get to this vantage point.
The inside of an old school bus rusting away at Old Car City, White, Georgia. I just stuck my camera through the front window and fired away. I did saturate the colors a bit in processing.
Sunrise over Assateague Island shortly after Superstorm Sandy in 2012. There is not normally this much water in the swamp, but the storm significantly rearranged the coastline and landscape. Another shot from a workshop with the Lanes, and still one of my best sunrise shots.

The falls on Dick’s Creek in Lumpkin County, Georgia. I was able to climb out on a rock in in the creek and get low for this image. I dropped my camera and broke the lens while climbing back after taking this picture.

Early morning fog/clouds and sunlight on the mesas west of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah in late October 2022. The light was rapidly changing, so we had little time to consider compositions. I took a bunch of pictures, of which I like this best.
Goose in the sunrise light on Lake Lanier in early spring 2017
And a glorious sunrise in late 2021 at West Bank Park on Lake Lanier, with the geese cooperating. Late spring 2021A wonderful sunrise over Lake Lanier northwest of Atlanta, Georgia. The clouds lit up with amazing colors, and the geese swam by right on cue. Very little processing required.

The hood ornament of a 1941 Packard sedan at the Savoy Automobiel Museum in Cartersville, GA.
The outer harbor at Oban, Scotland in the fall of 2014. Advice on this composition by Jim Richardson of National Geographic, Key was a white balance of 9090 Kelvin
A red-headed woodpecker at West Bank Park on Lake Lanier shortly after sunrise in the fall of 2022
